Global Signal is a rule-based trend system. For each asset, a simple traffic light shows whether the trend is intact, based on price momentum and volatility, not on forecasts. It works best with clear trends in both directions, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum or the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ).
That is why we use ETFs and crypto rather than single stocks: broad ETFs trend more clearly and suit a trend system better. With calm, broad ETFs the point is less maximum gain than limiting losses, sidestepping the big drawdowns. The more conservative the asset, the more plain buy and hold makes sense.
